Sedation, The Good, The Bad & The Ugly

After completing college at the University of Arizona, Dr. Reed attended dental school at the Oregon Health Sciences University (OHSU) School of Dentistry in Portland, Oregon, earning the DMD degree. After completing dental school, Dr. Reed remained at OHSU where he received advanced training in anesthesia and also completed a residency in periodontology and later completed a CODA approved dental anesthesia residency at Lutheran Medical Center based in Brooklyn, NY. Dr. Reed practiced periodontics in Tucson, AZ for over a decade while also providing anesthesia services to his patients. In 1998 Dr. Reed also began to provide anesthesia services to other dentists in the state of Arizona and continues to do so today. Dr. Reed is on faculty at a teaching hospital and two dental schools. Most of his time is devoted to teaching residents through NYU Langone Hospitals – Brooklyn. There he is the Associate Program Director of the Dental Anesthesia residency and also serves as an Attending in Anesthesiology in the Dental Anesthesiology, Advanced Education in General Dentistry and Graduate Pediatric dental residencies.
